Real estate, stock market, and contractual guarantees.

There's so many goo-roos out there you will never get to all of them.  Probably be lucky if you even ever have time for only one of them.  Best make it Jesus Christ.  He is  not a goo-roo or maybe he is the goo-roo of all goo-roos even though the term can be construed as a derogatory dig.  But what is all the money in the world if you are not happy and if you do not have joy and peace of mind?  Gain the world but lose your soul.  Store up treasures in heaven.  Give me one drop of water the rich man cried from hell.

So if God has positioned you with some money you probably best be giving a lot of it away if not all of it.  Pastor Rodney Howard-Browne says to give 90% and live on the tithe.  He gives 90% to Rodney Howard-Browne ministries.  And Rodney Howard-Browne ministries gives millions to other churches all across the world.  A  poor white African American boy who came to the united States as a missionary with his wife and kids and a couple of suitcases.

Quite a remarkable story.  And you have Tony Spell and the list of great preachers goes on and on.  I even like Jimmy Swaggart.  He's a  great gospel singer and cousin to Jerry Lee Lewis and friend of Elvis Pressley.  And at Pastor Rodney's church The River Church in Tampa Bay, Florida pastor Eric is  a multi-millionaire who lives a good life on his own sprawling farm right there and he preaches and teaches at the church every day and he preaches prosperity and starting your own business so you can give lots of money away and help others to do the same.

That is the answer to the communist and socialist aggression in this country.  Good old fashioned American competition.  Although I always  go back to the Henry Ford story of the big capitalist who took complete advantage of poor workers and made them work until they fell down dead and then replaced them with the hungry kid whose wife just had a baby and do the same to him and his kid after him.  So on the one hand as Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof would say and then on the other hand.

But the Henry Ford extreme of capitalism is a  long ways off for me and for most people.  Most people are closer to the worker side of the house spending all day long at the factory as time slows down to a crawl.  But some are like me the baby boomers.  Hitting retirement or well on in to retirement and some have a little bit of money some more than they need.  So there is the giving that does occur.  Most don't talk about it.  Go into a closet and pray.  Don't be out there bragging about all the good works that you are doing.  If you're like me, it might not be much to brag about.

So here at The Doug Kenline Newsletter we like to cover these internet money maker goo-roos.  I have found that it seems to break down in to e-commerce, betting on rigged sports matches, wall street, and contractually guaranteed liquid deposits.  So let's say you were lucky enough to have $10,000 to invest.  Ann Wilson The Wealth Chef says to get started early even if you only have $1 to invest.  Invest that $1.  Dave Ramsey says first get out of debt, and Ann Wilson says the same thing, first get out of debt so you can start saving some of your income.  I think no reasonable person could argue with that.

Then comes the guys who say use OPM other peoples money.  Borrow against real estate and have the renters pay of your debt for you.  Hard to argue with that.  It's been working for many for generations.  I don't like to borrow money.  Dave Ramsey says he only invests in two things, mutual funds and real estate that he paid cash for.

So like my old buddy at Martin Marietta Peacemaker Missile Project good old black JT with the moustache and funny laugh "Go for what you know." he would say when the subject of me jumping ship and going to work for Boeing in Huntsville, Alabama would ever come up.  "Boooiiinng!" he would say and then laugh that funny laugh.  What a joke that place was and I probably  couldn't have screwed up that great opportunity fresh out of college any worse than I did but like pastor Arnold Murray used to always say, sometimes God has to take out the two-by-four and get a guy straightened out in his head.

Right now I'm on the Dave Ramsey plan and thinking about alternatives beyond baby step 7.  Real estate is attractive and has it's pros and cons in my head just like everything.  That's all starting to fall under my new affairs-in-order masterful defensive rock solid net worth position with increasing cash flow plan.  I'm sure Coach Prime thinks about this too, although he has enough money but he better give the reins to somebody who ain't going to rip him off.

Del Walmsley was talking about somebody who had $400 million dollars and he blew every penny of it and wound up broke.  I've heard many similar stories and I'm sure you have as well.  So I would say number one follow Dave Ramsey's program through baby step 7 then work on your giving which is his baby step 7.  At the same time I want to start a business.  I think small business is the backbone of America and all good men need to come to the aid of their country and start and build a business.

Every business that has ever been in the history of the world started out as small as small can be.  The atom.  Never trust an atom.  They make up everything.  Every business that has ever been in the history of the world has started out as an idea in one man's head.
